Fall season seems like a very distant thing at the moment. I don’t think I am the only Oregonian that can say they want fall to arrive.

This week alone, we are expecting temperatures in the low 100’s, which is unusual for early September here in the Pacific Northwest. Keep out the sunscreen, water bottles, and hats!

With fall right around the corner, we are more than ready to get on with our autumn activities. Matt and I have been going to a pumpkin patch every year for the past 11 years and since having Scarlett, that has been no exception.

We were engaged at our favorite pumpkin patch in the area, we got married in the fall, October 4th, 2015 and Scarlett’s newborn photos were at a pumpkin patch.

We like fall just a bit!

Fall Bucket List Family Tickled Scarlett

When curating this list of things to do, I wanted to be sure that I included activities that could be done often, as well as ones that don’t cost a penny.

There are also some activities that require a tag team duo, such as mom/dad or auntie assistance, so those we hold off for a Sunday afternoon.

Read on as we have a few of our favorite activities & tips we want to share. Your printable goodie is accessible at the bottom of the post.

Enjoy our list of fall activities!

Go to a Pumpkin Patch & Farm

Going to the pumpkin patch can be a blast if you prepare beforehand & take it all in stride, especially with little ones. Pumpkin patches have many activities to participate in from hay rides to visiting the farm animals.

Watch (or attend) a Football Game

We are huge football fans in this household. I grew up with a football coach Dad and my husband’s family is from the Eugene/Springfield area. This can only mean one thing…Oregon Duck fans! We attend games when we can, but with a little one, that made it a bit tough last season.

This year, we are hoping to take her to some high school football games. Our local team is right behind our place, so we can literally walk to them.

Read a Fall Book

At the beginning of a new season or a new holiday, I always rotate in new books. Fall is no exception to our collection as there are so many titles to choose from.

Great ideas to enjoy fall! It’s one of my favorite times of the year. We look forward to visiting a pumpkin patch and getting cider and donuts every year!

    • Katie Bressler

Aren’t fresh donuts and cider a MUST when at a pumpkin patch? At the farm we love, they make pumpkin spice mini donuts. We always get a bag to go…those and apple cinnamon 🙂

  • I’m not ready for summer to end because I feel it was short, but I do love Fall. I love the colours of the leaves and the opportunity to drink hot cocoa. We can’t wait to go to the pumpkin patch.

    • Katie Bressler

I go back and forth with the season change! We have had a very toasty summer here in the PNW, plus with the wild fires, we are desperate for rain and fall.

Fall is literally our favorite time of the year. In between the fairs, kids crafts and fresh air we couldn’t wait for it to start.

    • Ahhh the fresh air sounds amazing right now. We are about to get a few inches of rain and it sounds unbelievable. May go out in the rain for dance!
