I love giving the gift of quality time & being able to do something with others, so I geared this gift guide towards fun activities that you can gift your Dad and purchase today if needed.
While I enjoy being a gift giver, but I don’t like to give the usual items…thinking outside of the box & being creative is my specialty.
We all want to show Dad how much he is appreciated & there are so many ways to do so. Here are my three last-minute ideas that I know your Dad will love & enjoy.
Price varies per State, Oregon – $30/year or $50 for two years
A unique gift that Dad while enjoy all year long is a state park pass. It allows him access to all that nature offers with an annual pass that covers the entry cost each time. Many state parks have a day entry fee, so this gift would allow him to go anytime, without charge.
My husband loves to be outdoors. He has especially taken to disc golf in the past few years, so this pass would allow him access to his favorite courses and parks without having to pay each time. Pretty cool!
This is just one of many passes to choose from in Oregon. They also have a thousand trails camping pass, annual northwest forest pass and many others. What a great way to enjoy the outdoors. Here is another blog post to take a look at for some additional fun activities to do in the Pacific Northwest
Be sure to do research for your state, as some states offer a variety of passes. Oregon has a few styles, including this one pass good for a year for state parks. California has 3-4 different styles for different parks and activities.
Prices vary on Membership Options, Oregon Gardens starts at $50
Another gift idea for the nature-loving Dad is a membership to The Oregon Gardens.
Located in Silverton, Oregon, this expansive property offers breathtaking gardens, walking paths & an array of additional amenities, such as a resort, gift shop & cafe. With 80 acres of gardens, you can’t go wrong visiting, exploring & taking in the Oregon views.
Their membership ranges in price and offers everything from free admission to discounts on special events.
This weekend, they are hosting Oregon Brewfest, an event with over 60 breweries pouring 120 different beers & ciders. There will be live music & delicious food for a fun-filled weekend party. Happening this weekend, this would be great to take Dad out for the day. The weather is looking to be about 80 here in Oregon, so even more of a reason to get outside.
Prices vary on winery and location. Tastings start around $15/person around the Willamette Valley
There are a handful of events going on at local wineries here in Oregon that Dad & the whole family can enjoy together this Father’s Day Weekend. Wine tastings, special walk-through’s at different vineyards & summer kickoff events, such as wine parties & special access passes are just a few that are taking place.
Does Dad have a favorite winery that he likes to visit? Many wineries have special clubs & memberships that can be joined when you visit & purchase their wine selections. Then, you receive extra special benefits throughout the year.
One winery in the area that offers this membership is Bells Up Winery in Newberg, Oregon. Tucked right up on a hillside looking out at the Chehalem Valley, Bell’s Up Winery is a beautiful winery owned, grown & operated by David & Sarah Specter.
This is a must visit winery when exploring Willamette Valley wineries. Be sure to purchase a few bottles, a membership for Dad, then schedule your appointment for a tasting soon, as they become quite popular in the summer months.
A wonderful resource to find out about local winery events is Willamette Valley Wines website. It provides details about all the weekend Father’s Day events & tickets that can be pre-purchased. Head on over to Willamette Valley Wines website to see some amazing events that are taking place in the wine country here in Oregon on Father’s Day weekend.
How about a delicious lunch with your Dad & family overlooking the beautiful scenery at Youngberg Hill Winery? A handpicked menu is waiting for you and your loved ones…no need to cook! Sounds good & delicious to me.
I can’t wait to gift one of these to my husband for this Father’s Day. What ideas or gifts did you have in mind for this year?
